Dragon

Thermal catching
wind gracer,

far soaring
sky master.

S curved neck of
brass and sinew,

wide spanned wing
Taloned and strong.

High in the sky of a morning,
one with its element of air.

Dragon! A dream,
tale of the clouded north.

Came he to our lands
borne on winds of fire.

Fell onto soft lands
southern farms,

Frail defence
wood and timber

fell to claw
and burning breath!

Cattle taken
children missing,

broken mothers
by hearthside weeping.

Ravaged fields
burning thatch

fire reek rising
to blackened sun,

darkened the day with
soot dark fume.

Cursed is the fire lizard
foul sky crawler.

Damned is the life bane
may he drown in cold water!
